What is your Alma Mater?

The Evergreen State College

 

I graduated in 2003, but was thrilled to read this snippet from wiki:

In late 2006, Evergreen's level of academic challenge among freshman and seniors was marked in the top ten percent of all baccalaureate colleges in the nation by the National Survey of Student Engagement, a study by Indiana University and the Pew Charitable Trusts.[1] Author and former New York Times education editor Loren Pope cites Evergreen as one of two public colleges in the United States in his book Colleges That Change Lives.

 

The school mascot is a clam. Ah, but not just any clam is it. It's a geoduck! Yep, our mascot is the lonesome geoduck (pronounced gooey-duck). It's a rather large bivalve, which made our posters look rather...err...phallic.

I'm in school right now. Well, right now it's summer. :hihi: But I'm currently enrolled.

 

I attend the University of Massachusetts - Amherst, Commonwealth College

Choosing a school was very difficult. I decided to go with UMass for it's fantastic undergraduate Chemistry program, and it's strength in scientific research.

 

I still have 3 more years here, but I will eventually go to grad school to get my PhD in Chemistry.

Graduated in November 1992 as a Bachelor of Music in Performance. I ended up there slightly by chance. At first I was offered an exchange program with a college in Minnesota, but they had 50 Norwegians and I wanted one with less fellow countrymen. So I applied for a Norway-America Foundation scholarship and got into Augustana instead. :shrug:
