[Q] Microgrit WCA alumina abrasive powder - how to use it?!

Hi,

 

This may seem a very stupid question but I can't find the answer, so am hoping someone here can help.

 

I want to clean the ion source in a Shimadzu GCMS machine and I have Microgrit WCA alumina abrasive powder but no instructions on how to use it! Do I need to wet it, do I apply it with a cloth or a swab or what? I have also emailed Shimadzu, but a reply might be quicker from here!
