Larv Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Here’s a Special Offer. I’ll sell you one million dollars of asteroid insurance for twenty-five bucks. This offer is limited. Get it while you can! Why? Because NASA isn’t being funded to watch out for all the asteroids that potentially threaten Earth. You can use your credit card, and if you act today I’ll send you a free asteroid-strike clean-up kit. Quote

Larv Posted August 13, 2009 Author Report Posted August 13, 2009 There probably is, or will be, a novel written that accounts for the complex human reaction when a large asteroid is discovered to be on a collision course with Earth. I can image all sorts of mayhem and madness, lawlessness beyond belief. My novel would have all the butchery reset the human population to about one billion. Then I would have the asteroid veer off course somehow at the last minute and barely miss Earth, leaving behind a spectacular fireworks show. Some will say God did it, some will say he didn't, and nothing of any importance will have changed. Quote
