And your wife finds it a good idea?

I'm not brave enough to mention it to her!

Or will it be yours inner sanctum perhaps ;)

that's the dream.

Hey what about using the large corrugated pipe thats used all the time by the roadway workers?

last week i actually inquired near by there is a large steel factory that does custom work...to be honest the price of steel is too high now....and i personally think that concrete may last longer underground...but not sure about that...???

LaurieAG: thanks for that, that clears up some stuff, makes sense.

Yoron, that sounds like an incredibly entertaining thing to do, but also sounds costly for the pump and that...also will be in dirt.

lately have been doing up some plans for a new house and am thinking of working a couple tunnels...."psuedo-tunnels" that will connect to the house directly...maybe, we'll see. my wife already knows im nuts, don't need to push my luck. baby steps.

i wonder though, because building a septic field, albeit roughly 100m away form the house, if in time this could leach into the tunnel area...sounds unlikely, but with heavy seasonal rains, it is a worry i am not sure about. though if its water tight, im sure it could keep out gases and such too from septic???
