RCP/CRT/RRT Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 So, my wife claims I'll forever be a big kid. I just get more expensive toys/hobbies. I make no excuses. Anyone else enjoy model rocketry? I've got countless low-power rockets (such as typical Estees class propellants), and two mid-power rockets (Aerotech composite motors F & G). I've plans, and already bought most of the materials, and a computer aided modeling program for my first hi-power custom model (is 4" in dia. and taller than me! Probably about 3 lbs). I enjoy building the big and small, and the excuse to get out in the garage, having some drinks and working my hands... Is a great get-away for me... Just curious if I'm the only "big kid" into this? Moontanman Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Forty years ago i was into model rocketry big time. I had a Vashion two stage liquid fueled rocket. It was very cool, I still have some of the aluminum pieces and the first stage motor section somewhere. i introduced both my boys to model rocketry as well but we had to use the Estes rocket motors due to the freon being illegal to vent into the atmosphere.
