If it looks unpleasant, I clean it, but I do it for aesthetic and olfactory reasons, not particularly for hygiene.

There's a lot of hysteria these days about having every surface antiseptically germ-free. Most of it, I suspect, whipped up by the makers of cleaning products. My view is that the immune system, like any other organ in the body, needs exercise or it gets flabby.

It might be a coincidence, but since I started to take a more casual approach to "all those billions of bacteria crawling over every surface" :hal_jackolantern: :autumnleaves: I've felt fitter and stronger. I used to come down with every bug that was going around - colds, flu, sore throat, stomach upset... I've had one mild dose of the sniffles in the last two years, and haven't had a day off work sick for over three. :hal_skeleton:

I like to keep my toilet clean.. I do a lot of good, productive reading while on "the Throne", and I don't want my perch to be too sullied or soiled :autumnleaves:

But since I'm usually the only one who uses it, Its about Bi-weekly for me.

As soon as some yellowing/browning scum sticks to the bowl, or if I was "off target" late at night, I'll get in there and scrub 'er down.

Nice Poll Turtle :hal_jackolantern: .. I'll refrain from any further comment

I'll refrain from any further comment, except I have a question... ???

I hear they Tax people now in Australia per flush of the toilet..

Is that True?

and Is it part of the Carbon Based tax system they want to implement to fight off "Global Warming" or "Climate Change" ??

Gets bleach multiple times a day.

You could probably eat out of it.

Obviously, it makes a difference when you don't have the option of standing up....

Warning: I didn't start using bleach until after we lost our last dog, but before then she found the "green" cleaner we used to use so distasteful that it kept her away from it. If you have an animal, bleach is not a good thing.

There are days when any electrical appliance in the house, including the vacuum cleaner, offers more entertainment than the TV set, :phones:

Well, I live with three other two girls and a guy and we have a cleaning lady :-| (reason is that the landlady had her and she kept coming before we decided if we want her, then we got used to it).

So it is bi-weekly, but we have the unwritten rule that also men sit down (without ever speaking about it), because it gets messier even if you center 100%, because it just sprinkles always a bit (either on the impact or already while pissing, guys if you dont belive me try once to piss naked and tell me if you don't feel some droplets somewhere on the legs :-), but then maybe if you are less tall than me, you don't have that problem)...anyway, by all people sitting it gets less dirty... hence bi-weekly is enough.

As to the germs and hygiene, Eric Schlosser in his book "fast Food Nation" pointed out that studies showed that there are more rests of feces in the kitchen sink than on the toilet seat...so we know where to wash the salad ;-)
