How do you know we are not moving 99.99% C right now? If you answer me this question we should both acquire an answer that gets us on the right track.

Well, you actually are travelling at close to the speed of light, as it is. But only from the perspective of cosmic rays, who are, as far as they can tell, standing perfectly still.

Actually if you are travelling alongside the cosmic rays but you're able to look at all the other stuff around you, you see a great difference in redshift of things according to direction. You can't tell by looking only at the cosmic rays.
