OpenMind5 Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 Hey Guys and Gals. I saw this video and after watching many times and asking friends what they thought...wanted to know if any of you could shed some light on it. The video can be found here. Aurgasm | your favorite music you've never heardIt's title is "Gentle Fireworks." Here is a link to the direct Video:Ólafur Arnalds - Ljósið (Official Music Video) on Vimeo The effect looks like dancing smoke and such. I don't know if its a digital effect or a program. What I would love to know is...how was this done? Is this an actual reaction of some kind or what? Any information you can give me so I can do this would be GREAT! Thanks a TON in advance,OP5 Quote
JMJones0424 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 This is just a partial guess, or a series of thoughts at least. First of all, it appears that the closer the "source" is to the "camera", the lower the frequency of color (red being closest to the camera, violet furthest away). Perhaps someone was manipulating a smoke pen or something in the path of light that had been split by a prism, and the person's arm and the smoke pen have been edited out. Then again, it may just be creative computer animation. On second examination, I don't like the smoke pen idea, as there a distinct straight line bursts periodically coming out of the "device". If I didn't know better, it appears to be a sparkler. Whatever it is, the effect is quite remarkable. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Quote
