Moontanman Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 The Labyrinth Aquarium - we're a bit lost We’ve shown you the washbasin aquarium, a fish-n-flush toilet and some designer wall-mounted fish tanks. Now there's the Labyrinth Aquarium - a maze of interconnecting aquarium bowls with which to confuse your fishy friends and bemuse your human ones. The Labyrinth Aquarium - we're a bit lost Quote
JMJones0424 Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 I'm hoping they altered the functioning parts of that "aquarium" in order to increase the aesthetic appeal for the photograph. If it were to be run as it appears in the picture, you'd have yourself a nice little fishy Auschwitz. There's no where near enough surface area for gas exchange to take place naturally. This is typically the reason why low-tech goldfish bowls have such a horrible reputation for killing fish and harboring disease. Quote
Moontanman Posted November 11, 2009 Author Report Posted November 11, 2009 I have to agree with you, I am a long time fish nut and I have tried to look at this thing from as many different directions as they allow. Unless it has some external input out put arrangement I cannot see how it could maintain much in the way of inhabitants. I can think of a few ways to alter it that would be cool but as it appears it's not much better than a gold fish bowl. Quote
Experiment Garden Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 Did you notice in the original article the price for this "fishy Auschwitz"? $6500 USD. :naughty: Quote

Drill in one link from the article to the retailer’s page, and you encounter the following:The tables are produced in cherry, black or carbon fiber and they conceal the rare filtration and lighting components. Fish swim freely throughout the entire aquarium. Designed for tropical freshwater fish. The table is optional. Filters and all equipment still included if purchased without table. We can hope that this “rare filtration” equipment not only filter the circulated water, but allows it to exchange gasses with the room air so that the aquarium’s water has an effectively large surface area. With such a system, it should be possible to have an elaborate aquarium like this with no visible water/air surfaces. Quote
DFINITLYDISTRUBD Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 Your aquarium includes silk plants, 3 lights, filters, air pumps and cleaning equipment. The 3 rare lights are doughnut shaped and are placed underneath the black central hoods. They include programmable timer plugs which allow you to set when the lights turn on and off. .
