Moontanman Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 Cigarettes Harbor Many Pathogenic BacteriaScienceDaily (Nov. 20, 2009) — Cigarettes are "widely contaminated" with bacteria, including some known to cause disease in people, concludes a new international study conducted by a University of Maryland environmental health researcher and microbial ecologists at the Ecole Centrale de Lyon in France. Cigarettes harbor many pathogenic bacteria Quote
DFINITLYDISTRUBD Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 So'z my truck, my house, my yard, my fridge, my beer, wine, bread, cheese, mushrooms, coffee, tea, my thermos, drinkin water, warshin machine, the dog, the kitties, their damn stinky box, they're everywhere mate don't worry bout it so much:hihi: Quote
DFINITLYDISTRUBD Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 It should be realized that the never ending attempts to sterilize our surroundings and our persons are only hurting not helping our bodies defend themselves from microbial warfare. One need only note the new tuffer strains we're creating through unnatural selection which easily overpower immune systems which haven't had enough practice kickin azz (which they would have got in a more natural environment Ie. one that hasent been bombarded with every antimicrobial known to man). So whats all this mean smokers immune systems have an unfair advantage over non-smokers cuz they get more practice;) Quote
Moontanman Posted November 21, 2009 Author Report Posted November 21, 2009 WOW DD you make smoking sound like healthy living, I think I'll run out and buy a carton of cigs today, no wait, I have some thing else to do with my $40 :eek_big: Quote
DFINITLYDISTRUBD Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 :eek_big: to be perfectly honest I felt healthier when I did smoke.....course it could just be the misery of dealing with the eighty pounds I gained and the weird destabilizing effect it had on my metabolism and my sugar when I quit.....But that said...if I had never smoked I'd have never had to deal with the negative health effects caused by smoking or quitting. But my point is that it's really no big deal that tobacco products are laden with organisms...and as best I can tell most "educated" smokers already knew that the organisms were there.....first of it's a semi-fermented agricultural product, secondly it's handled by people and is not further washed (which would ruin the flavor just a bit). Or More to the point.... WHY THE F*** do people waste time and money researching crap like this!?!? (not you, the researchers.) [beyond the obvious purpose of job preservation] Quote
Getting A Life Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 I must agree. Scare tactics do not work on smokers. This research will reinforce their need for a ciggie to 'forget'. The almighty dollar makes the rules. Smoking is still legal because of this. Poisoning our populace, why do we ever vote for anyone? Quote
DFINITLYDISTRUBD Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 Poisoning our populace, why do we ever vote for anyone? Along the same lines....Why is it no-one sues Unca Scam for his role in profiting off the production of tobacco products? The largest portion of monies earned from it go into his pockets anyways.
