Moontanman Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Imagine living in a star system where through some weird coincidence the amount of boron is far above the average in the universe. (it could happen!) You live on a planet where their are oceans of liquid ammonia and boron nitrogen compounds is the basis of your planets life. You breath hydrogen, your planet has a surface gravity of 2.5 Earths (to hold the hydrogen) so space travel is much harder. You look out at the universe and see almost no boron anywhere. What would you think of a space craft that landed on your planet and had beings like "us" inside. made of carbon compounds, oxygen, water. boron-based life Quote
Moontanman Posted December 11, 2009 Author Report Posted December 11, 2009 Ok, if they had religion, then creationism would at the very least look pretty good as an explanation of their existence, a crashed spaceship with "us" on board would be a very polarizing thing for the inhabitants of this hypothetical planet.
