SamSpeedo Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Global warming is a real bummer. Quote
Pyrotex Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 "Global warming" describes climate trend -- climate is what you may expect. A "nasty cold spell" describes a fleeting occurrence of weather -- weather is what you get. Quote
SamSpeedo Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 The Earth is carved by climate change, look out your window. Hills are carved by wind, valleys are carved by rain and water, mountains by ice and snow. You can see ancient glaciers in every lake and pond, climate change is how climate works. Four and a half billion years of climate change. Don't panic. Quote
Pyrotex Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 The Earth is carved by climate change, look out your window....Don't panic. Brain, when I drive my car at 60 MPH on a typical road, I do not panic. The probability of catastrophe is small. But if I find myself going down a steep mountain road, the speedometer is showing 100 MPH, and the brakes feel mushy, then I say it IS time to panic and put on the emergency brakes. Climate change is not the problem. Accelerating climate change is the problem. Quote

Don't E-brake it you'll lose control if your wheels lock... better to downshift and then kill the motor (if you can without locking your steering.....even an automatic gearbox will maintain engine braking with the engine off....and no time is an appropriate time to panic behind the wheel.:naughty: of course it is never appropriate to panic bout anything:naughty: panic only leads to more trouble.:D Quote
