Pope John Paul II's Last Words

" I love you, With my every breath, With all I have left, From the deepest depths, Of my heart, I love you.

With all of my strength, With a thousand miles' length, Every thought I think, And each, I love you.

For the length of forever, As long as I can remember, Through good and bad weather, For always, I love you.

When no one is there, When you think no one cares, When love seems too rare, Remember, I love you.

When everything's gone, When all has withdrawn, When hopelessness dawns, Don't forget, I love you.

When you fall down, When your dreams come unwound, When hope can't be found, Be happy, I love you.

When you make mistakes, When you're filled with hate, When you're old and gray, Even then, I love you.

Until the very end of days, Until my breath is taken away, Until death separates our ways, Even after then, I love you.

Tell the Commonwealth Queen, raise my Almighty's Helestone, my great God of forces, my successor.

I, love, you. "

Pope is a head of a religious institution which is followed by billions of people. Now that pope has expired,Who will be the next pope??i mean what are the qualities for the election of a pope?? Can a female become a pope??Can a child become the religiuos head like the buddhist monks of tibet???Stepping out the shoes of the observer what should be the general criteria for a person to become a religious head????Knowlwdge???,discipline??? self renuncaition???

( I do understand this is a sensitive religious issue and that there will be a college of cardinals who will elect the pope and they have their own procedure and qualification.)

Pope John Paul II's death is a tragedy, yes I wholeheartedly agree with you.

How can the natural death of an 85 year old man be a tragedy?

Now I can understand that people feel sorrow but this seriously is not a "tragedy". It is life as we know it (or in this case, death).

Very true Tormod;

Men resist death,

as long as they live.

Only when they must,

will they reverence give.

So what can be learned,

from a life pure and fit.

For the fullness is found,

in the dying of it.

i didn't mean to, but when i came on my computer the other day to find that the pope had died. i chuckled. not because of his death-but because something SO significant to over 1,000,000 people had absolutely no affect on me.

What source reported this? There is a copy of that same poem posted here on 4-11-04. The media is simply reporting his last words as "amen". That poem looks like quite a bit for someone on death's door to recite from memory. Maybe it's just a poem he recited at some other time.

that's what i was thinking. i also thought it would be kind of funny (gah my humor is screwed up somethings) if a dying pope layed there and began to recite a poem from memory. it would be something out of a movie...and whenever movie-situations happen in real life i can't help but laugh because it's so out of the ordinary-nevermind.

all i'm saying is i'm agreeing with c1ay, he probably told the vatican to report that as his last words. i would like to see the source too, though..
