Human Culture, an Evolutionary Force?

As with any other species, human populations are shaped by the usual forces of natural selection, like famine, disease or climate. A new force is now coming into focus. It is one with a surprising implication — that for the last 20,000 years or so, people have inadvertently been shaping their own evolution.

definitely true, all trends such as sat test scores, iq tests, fitness tests, public heath records and quite honestly general observation will tell you that humanity is loosing many of the traits we humans see as favorable. we are getting dumber and less athletic largely due to the fact that there is no natural selection within today's society. In fact, i would argue that in countries like the united states where survival is guaranteed and there is enough room for all of the degenerates, compared to Europe and Asia anyway, this trend is more prevalent. the reason top athletes seem to be performing better and the elite intellectuals seem to be getting smarter is simply because there is more of us humans making any trait at all more likely to occur. But in fact as long as humanity continues to to maintain moderate iqs ( at least enough not to hurt themselves or be too stupid for survival even in this society ) these traits may prove favorable. stupid people for example would never invent the atomic bomb or ever new ingenious weapons of mass destruction that seem to be one of the greatest dangers of humanity. there will of course always be those who are incredibly intelligent allowing the general population to further decay mentally making it ever easier to survive. Eventually human iq and physical ability will become so ridiculous we will be sort of like monkeys living in a really technologically advanced world that is if we make it that far, or genetic engineering is used , or some other factor kills stupid and physically incapable people off. just visit the southern unites states and u will see this in action. personally it makes me want to throw up.

That's an interesting take on human culture, I'm not convinced that our culture is in any way leading to low IQ's I know the above story doesn't mention it in anyway. Do you have any thing to back up your assertions that human culture is lowerign IQ's?
