paigetheoracle Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 I've noticed that when I get ideas or feel inspired, I see a flash of light above my right eye (no, not a flying saucer or light in the sky - purely internal) - does anyone know what causes this and in what part of the brain? Is this the reason historically, that light bulbs are used to indicate a flash of inspiration? Lastly, recently I've noticed that when angry I get a corresponding dark spot in front of my eye - what causes this, the light going out?:naughty: Quote
Donk Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 With me, it's auditory. Many small pieces of a puzzle joining up into a sudden understanding makes a sound like a tinkerbell fairy. Or I've been struggling with something for ages; suddenly I "get it", and realise I've been looking at the problem in completely the wrong way. That's a Big Ben type "BONG!!" Or the realisation that I've made a hideous mistake, and it's going to take ages / cost a fortune / be impossible to put right: that's a sound like a heavy lump of lead falling on to concrete from a great height. :naughty: Quote
