syphrix Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 I've decided to pursue my pestering curiosities through self-study. I've found some basic resources online for better understanding simple physics & math but I haven't found anything really spectacular in the way of... say a self-guided course with exercises and quizzes and the like. So far I like the Algebra lessons on Practical Algebra LessonsAnd I like the basic introduction to physical science on Learn Physics Today! But seeing as I have no real experience to determine what is a "good" or "bad" resource I'm thinking I can call upon the guidance of some people here who do retain that kind of experience. What I'm hoping is that maybe some of you guys could point me in directions that helped or are helping you. Maybe this thread can exist as a pooled location of quality learning tools & resources for aspiring individuals? Quote
lawcat Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 I would also suggest this site Quantum Physics: Max Planck: Explaining Planck's Constant, Quantum Energy States. Biography Quotes Pictures. Just for general information on topics of matter, mass, time, and distance, which you will surely encounter here a lot. More specifically, Wave Structure of Matter http://www.spaceandmotion.com/physics-quantum-mechanics-wolff-wsm.htm. It's just a suggestion for developing a more informed viewpoint. syphrix Posted April 3, 2010 Author Report Posted April 3, 2010 aaahhh! Information overload! Those articles went over my head pretty fast. I think I need a basic introduction to particles & waves and the math involved at the more primitive levels before I jump into the rest of the heap. Quote
