Time_Travel Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 What might have caused the Big Bang(if it had ever happened). Is it Gravity, or Dark Energy or something else? Quote
prometheuspan Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 quantum gravity or quantal identity crisis. Every quanta wants its own space/time. In short, it all happened because quanta wanted to be independent, not squeezed into overlapping each other. before that, what caused quantum gravity? polarization of the singularity into a scalar fractal phase state that implied quanta. :hyper: Quote

prometheuspan Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 geometry. once space existed, quanta were self defining as existing inside of X amount of it. That geometry was too large for them all to fit into a singularity. The universe expanded to start because quanta could not otherwise have their own space. Quote
Time_Travel Posted May 1, 2010 Author Report Posted May 1, 2010 what do you mean when you say dark energy. the experts know very little about dark material. follow me on coping with divorcewomen hosiery GreenPea, If Scientists don't know anything about Dark energy then why are they using that term. Science is all about evidence. Sure Scientists no more about dark energy than you say, hence they say Universe is expanding because of it. Something must have caused the Big Bang. Dark Energy might be one of the possibility IMO. Quote
Tormod Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 Hello Time_Travel It is currently impossible to state what caused the big bang, simply because we don't know enough. In physics, the big bang represents a special singularity in spacetime - ie, the first one. The big bang in some ways represent the "beginning" of space and time as we know it. Physics show that the laws of nature somehow distills out of the big bang. Thus it may not be meaningful to talk about a "before". There may not have been a before, just as there may never have been an "elsewhere". For all we know, our universe is all there "is" (but what does "is" mean in this respect?). String theory does not allow singularities. Therefore the big bang can be explained as an event which has a "before" and an "after". We do have some content on big bang theories. Use the search field to find it. Here is a science article from a few years back:What Happened Before The Big Bang? - Hypography - Science for everyone Quote
