belovelife Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 Gynaecology have you ever thought this should be a field for women only ?Arguements for both sides please Quote
Buffy Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 Huh? Well I'm not as old as the folks in the picture you linked to, but most of my gynecologists have been men... Why should it matter? In any profession, some practitioner's suck and some don't. If you're trying to prevent "molesters" from being in the profession:Keeping *all* men out because 1% of them might be molesters is foolishGosh, those *lesbians* might "molest" me too! :smart: Seriously, your post just sounds like troll bait, and I'll recommend NO ONE respond to this thread until you make your intentions known. 'Seese' and 'putter'! have I lived to stand at the taunt of one that makes fritters of English? :artgallery:Buffy Quote
geneyoonit Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 LOL that's like saying all pediatricians should be teenagers... no one wants statutory rape! eek :artgallery: Quote
belovelife Posted June 11, 2010 Author Report Posted June 11, 2010 i was wondering, i know that the potential for abuse of position ( ie trust enought to be in a position the is usually earned throught trust)you are probly right, you cannot blame all the men for potential mistakes of others, and i'm sure there is a strict code of ethics that goes along with the field, i guess i was just raising a concern in reality, the reason i was wondering, was because of the knowledge that one has as a gynecologist, they could easily take advantage of that situation, and probly even do a good job but in the end i guess its better to not worry (sorry if it sounds like i'm trolling) Quote

Really? Seriously, it's not so much the code of ethics but the market system that will stop them: if someone is doing "more than clinically required" things to my woman parts it's pretty obvious, and if they get pleasure from doing less, well heck, I enjoy my work too, so what do I care? I do have to admit the similarity with the Friends episode where Chandler has to break it to Joey that tailors aren't supposed to measure inseams "that way"...but we're talking about Joey Tribbiani here... i guess i was just raising a concernYour time might be better spent raising concerns with your congresscritters on the BP oil spill... Isn't that just kick-you-in-the-crotch, spit-on-your-neck fantastic? :hihi:Buffy Quote
CerebralEcstasy Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 A physician, or a specialist in the case of a gynecologist normally doesn't go to school for 10 years only to piss his/her career away on a charge of molestation. Not to say this hasn't occurred, but it is not the norm. On a more personal note, I found the male gynecologists to be way more gentle than the women. I would imagine it is because they can only imagine what it must be like, and therefore use extra caution. Whereas the female didn't bother to warm the instrumentation up, and was far from gentle. I actually felt violated after she was done. Quote

I'll disagree that there's a trend there differentiating the male and female obgyn's: I think we all have a freezing speculum horror story....and don't get me started about mooshed breasts during mammograms.... Okay, all right. Well, aren't there times when you come home at the end of the day, and you're just, like, "If I see one more cup of coffee..." :hihi:Buffy Quote
