Noah Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 Saw this posted on another forum...Very scary, to say the very least, and it appears to be from good sources. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/science/frontiers_20021009.shtml http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/planetearth/volcano_monitor_010807-3.html http://www.solcomhouse.com/yellowstone.htm ...enough material to cover Wyoming with a layer 13 feet thick or the entire conterminous United States with a layer 5 inches thick. Ummmmmm. Ok. Nice knowing you all. Seriously, could we not vent this steam and all? And maybe even use it as a power source? We use steam in power plants to turn turbines, this would be the same except we wouldn't have to create that steam because it would already be there. Noah Quote
Tormod Posted September 20, 2003 Report Posted September 20, 2003 Bill Bryson writes about this in his latest book, "A Short History of Almost Everything". Bye, bye, Noah. Tormod Quote

freeztar Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 Is Yellowstone still there? I'm not sure, but we've accumulated 4 inches of snow in the last hour, which is really weird for the South.Hey wait, that's not snow...it's...it's....fertilizer. :shade: Quote
