Mongoose19 Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 I live in Poland, it happened at around 23 this night. I saw near Big Dipper two stars, they were not that far away from each other (considering how big is the sky) but it felt like they were in some organised line. I don't know how to explain that I just felt there is something about those two stars. After few second they just vanished. I thought it might be some cloud but they sky was clear and I kept checking that part of sky for 2 hours later. I am just wondering what is a chance of seeing two stars fade at same time. Mind the distance between those objects it couldn't be any form of spaceship, satelite or whatever. Quote
Macartist Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 I live in southeast Pennsylvania and I saw something interesting tonite at 10:30 est, I was looking at the Big Dipper and right in the middle of two of the stars there was another star that isn't usually there and it looked exactly like the other stars; after a few seconds it vanished. It kind of blew me away, actually, it was pretty cool. So anyway, I rushed in and googled fading stars/big dipper/ etc. etc., and ended up here... I' ve never seen that before, is it common? Quote
