inspiurd Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Is there a material out there that is flexible, and does not break when stretched at a slow rate; but stiffens up quickly and breaks easily at higher rates of speed? I was thinking of putty - but something that resembled more of a rubber band? Just curious. Quote
Eclogite Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 A popular material in the 60s with schoolchildren was 'magic putty'. When you squeezed it gently it behaved like plasticine. When you hit it with a hammer it shattered. Quote
