Beta waves & Alien Abduction

According to Norman S Don, a neuroscientist formerly of The University of Illinois, UFO abductees and a few other odd people, can automatically go into a Beta wave state. Could this be a way of picking out the genuine from just the claimants and attention seekers, to see if there is something that correlates between their stories as opposed to disinformation and misinformation from wannabes, that muddies the waters?
