Tormod Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 Hello dear folks - after our move to this new location, you may need to reset your password. You can do that from the login screen if your old password fails.
Tormod Posted August 18, 2010 Author Report Posted August 18, 2010 Note that the old "User CP" (control panel) is now found by clicking on your name up in the user are in the top right. There are lots of settings and options, so it will take time for everyone to learn! :) :D

Tormod Posted August 18, 2010 Author Report Posted August 18, 2010 Try the tex bb-code: [tex]\alpha[/tex] [tex]\alpha[/tex] I ahve set it up now so that BOTH tex and latex bbcode works. We'll have to rethink math and chem tags.
Tormod Posted August 18, 2010 Author Report Posted August 18, 2010 Yup! :) I need to find some IPB resources so we can learn the ins and outs on this. BTW I love the chatroom! It's hosted somewhere else, too, so it can be available if our server should happen to go down.
Mercedes Benzene Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 I need to find some IPB resources so we can learn the ins and outs on this. Yeah definitely. I still can't find the "CP." The only thing that even resembles the old CP is "My content," but it seems to be doing some weird things...
Tormod Posted August 18, 2010 Author Report Posted August 18, 2010 The UserCP is found here:http://scienceforums.com/index.php?app=core&module=usercp
IDMclean Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 The UserCP is found here:http://scienceforums.com/index.php?app=core&module=usercpHow do I check up on threads I've subscribed to at a glance? Tormod 1
Doctordick Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 Yup! :)Well, since you figured out how to make the "math" tags work, I thought maybe you could add in the "imath" tags. It really doesn't require conversion to the smaller text; just being able to forget about the problem would be worth the trouble. Thanks -- Dick Tormod 1
Tormod Posted August 18, 2010 Author Report Posted August 18, 2010 Will investigate! Please keep posting Qs and we'll learn how this works together.
Mercedes Benzene Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 So... I see the new "CP" but I still don't see a place where I can see the newly updated threads that I'm subscribed to.
Tormod Posted August 18, 2010 Author Report Posted August 18, 2010 How about this page:http://scienceforums.com/index.php?app=core&module=help Read the part about notifications. Mercedes Benzene 1
modest Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 Yep Changing settings -> notification options -> Topics & Posts to "Inline Notification" gave me a notification with a new reply to a subscribed thread. I think that's the way to go :) ~modest Tormod 1
Tormod Posted August 19, 2010 Author Report Posted August 19, 2010 What exactly does "inline notification" mean? BTW hope you guys like the new color scheme! I think it's much, much fresher than the default one.
modest Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 What exactly does "inline notification" mean? Good question. I was assuming it had something to do with showing the notification at the top of the screen by the user name. Maybe not... :-| The other notification option is "Personal Conversation" which, I guess, might mean that a person could set it up to get PMs each time a subscribed thread is replied to. I do like the colors. Very fresh ~modest Tormod 1
Tormod Posted August 19, 2010 Author Report Posted August 19, 2010 Yup, inline notification increases the counter between the "xx new" and "sign out". That's a nifty feature - click on it and get a list of what's new and what kind of content it is! Brilliant.
