paigetheoracle Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 Could God be used as a term to describe an answer because we don't know the cause of something or like a child, wouldn't be able to grasp the concept in a full, detailed way? Quote
noexpert Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Do you mean from a scientific basis or theological? Scientifically there is no concrete evidence for God, and therefore science can neither confirm nor deny the existance of God, meaning that it can not attribute anything to him. But in religion, often times that is precisely what God's role is. Growing up in a southern baptist home, I was taught that everything is the way it is because that is the way God made it. Now I realize that there are rational, tangible explanations for many of the occurences around us. I do still believe in a God, but I believe that God operates through rational means and that may be less present within the realms of science and every day life than I was taught to believe. Quote
