Dark Mind Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 How many of you are using more than one monitor on a single computer? Quote
C1ay Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 Quite the reverse for me, I'm using one monitor, keyboard and mouse for 2 computers at the moment ;) Quote
Tormod Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 At work I use an apple powerbook hooked up to an apple widescreen monitor. At home I only use one 19" monitor...but I wouldn't mind getting two 19" flatscreens... ;) Quote
Buffy Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 I'm like C1ay, 'cept I got 4 machines on the switcher, with two keyboards and three mice due to one being a mac and one windows machine being really finicky about wanting to have the mouse run directly to it.... Cheers,Buffy Quote
Queso Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 i have 2 computers, one mac and one windows, with individual monitors lying around my room. this place is a wire zoo. also, a laptop on a wireless connection. Quote
Dark Mind Posted April 22, 2005 Author Report Posted April 22, 2005 I got one vote for "Yes, I am using more than one monitor." but from what I read I got the impression that all of you were only using one monitor (or less ;)) per machine. Although I'm not sure about Tormod (But who ever is? ;)) At work I use an apple powerbook hooked up to an apple widescreen monitor. At home I only use one 19" monitor...but I wouldn't mind getting two 19" flatscreens... ;) It still seems like you have the same screen on the widescreen monitor as you do on the powerbook. Maybe my question was unclear. What I was wondering: How many of you currently have at least two or more monitors hooked up to one machine, like this... Quote
Dark Mind Posted April 22, 2005 Author Report Posted April 22, 2005 Note: The above is not my computer, I just wish it was. Quote
Dark Mind Posted April 22, 2005 Author Report Posted April 22, 2005 I've always been wondering, where did you get your name from orbsycli Quote
Queso Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 i made it up one night when i was writing poetry and it made sense at the time, but now i just leave it up to whatever anybody wants it to mean. "...accumulating ice when the sun tends to dieorbsycli was intended for patience..."from something i wrote called 88:88the name comes from a microwave at a house i practiced with, with an old band. we were fascinated how time could just be 88:88 all the time, and we played for hours and the time never changed. childish, stupid-whatever it was, it was amazing. Dark Mind Posted April 22, 2005 Author Report Posted April 22, 2005 Very insightful actually. Too bad you couldn't of fixed the microwave though. Quote
Tormod Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 Although I'm not sure about Tormod (But who ever is? ;)) Not me! It still seems like you have the same screen on the widescreen monitor as you do on the powerbook. No, it becomes a dual screen setup. At home I forgot to say that I run a PC with the 19". That setup in the photo you posted would fit nicely in my wet computer music studio dreams... Quote
Turtle Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 :note: :note: :note: :note: :note: :note: +++One of my roommates who is nameless but his initials are Frosty, has 3 computers & 3 monitors on his dersk for gaming (also a laptop for when he's on the road). No single machine has multiple monitors though. :) Quote
Dark Mind Posted April 25, 2005 Author Report Posted April 25, 2005 Ummmm, incorrect? Just look at the thumbnail Turtle, just look at the thumbnail (Post 7 or 8 I think). I also believe that you need multiple video cards to accomplish this. Quote
Queso Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 i think turtle was just explaining a similar situation, but not exact. just showing his side of this multiple monitor computer world. Quote
