CraigD Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 Welcome to hypography, Evil Angel! Please feel free to start a thread in the introductions forum to tell us all a bit about yourself, your interests, etc.Now I am doing some experiments with acetylene. But I don't know how to deal with the waste acetylene gas. Thanks for your advise~ :)Acetylene isn’t very toxic or violently flammable at normal room air pressure and typical concentration from welding/cutting of experimenting leakage, so I’d say just keep your workspace well-ventilated, which you should already be doing. I suspect the stuff it’s usually mixed with in a storage tank is as or more dangerous to your health than the C2H2 gas is. PS: Whatever you do, don’t compress pure acetylene! Without something like acetone, it’s explosively reactive when compressed! Quote
