Alpine Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 Though silly, but my question is straight-forward. Will a person survive death if their brain and heart (both) and frozen? I'm doing some research on Cryonics, yes it is way too advanced for a 16 years old but still, and I want to know if a person who is on the verge of dying gets their brain and heart frozen, or maybe is completely frozen internally, will it stop death? Also, how long before their death would this be need to be done? Quote
joekgamer Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 The cells would die. Unless they are perfectly and instantly are frozen, they would not survive. Alpine 1 Quote
Moontanman Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 Even if frozen with no damage from the expansion of water the "person" would evaporate due to entropy. Freezing does not mean no change and the unique nature of the person would not be preserved, his memories depend on the precise location and state of the cells in his brain, this would change and degrade even if the person was frozen, the longer the freezing the less likely the "person" would be preserved....
