alexander Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 So in my infinite ponderance, i have come across a conundrum. So in the past 3 months Adobe has released two advisories citing that flash and acrobat are vulnerable, being exploited. Both of the times its the latest version and all before it, every time exploit either leads to a DOS or remote execution. That made me wonder, does the sheer amount of execution-level vulnerabilities in flash qualify it as a root kit? Quote
phillip1882 Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 interesting. i'd say no. a root kit is in my opinion, an appication specifically ment to be used for hacking into somones computer. calling flash a root kit because it has execution level vulnerabilites would be like calling windows xp a root kit bacause it's so suseptable to viruses. alexander Posted April 13, 2011 Author Report Posted April 13, 2011 No no, Windows XP is not a root kit, absolutely not, active x is, but windows as itself can not quite be a root kit, no, windows is spyware... Tormod 1 Quote
