Hello my friends and thanks for your kind thoughts.

I have been on vacation alone in a cabin on a mountain top this week, and my wife and kids have been with grandparents, so we have not been close to the attack. It is however a tragedy of unprecedented dimensions for a small country like Norway. Almost 100 people, most of them adolescents, have been murdered by a right-wing activist. He also destroyed the buildings which house our Government and this means that it is a serious attack on our way of life and our political system. Thank heavens he has been arrested and is alive, so that we can learn why he has done this. So far he has been indicted under the new terrorism laws.

I am leaving the cabin now to be with my wife and kids. I am anxious to see the list of dead and wounded. Norway is a small country and the chances that there are friends or relatives on the list is high, but even if I know nobody on the list, I know several who had children at the youth camp which was attacked. I try not to think about the incredible horror which happened there, it is a nightmare come true. Oslo is my home town and the sense of grief and loss is unbearable.

My heart goes out to the victims, the wounded and their families and friends. The entire nation is in shock and there will be a lot of mourning.

Again, thanks for your concern and please follow the news and learn what has happened to Norway and our children.
