Deepwater6 Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Is there any data that tells us if dark matter's influence on matter is constant? From the looks of tv shows like "The Universe" series they make it look as though it's akin to the surface of the ocean in rough seas. With larger quanities in certian areas and hardly none in others. With the relative consistency of most spiral galaxies it would seem to be an even force throughout correct? With regards to Dark Energy, since the galaxies farthest away from us are moving the fastest does that indicate that they are meeting less resistance for Dark Energy to overcome or is more likely that they are being pulled away from us faster than nearby galaxies by an outside force we can't see?
