Why was Heisenberg's wife always dissatisfied?

Because when he had the time he didn't have the energy, and vice versa.

At the risk of the consequences of take shots at a physics joke (by some accounts, there’s a special circle of hell for folk that do this), shouldn’t the punch line be something like: “because when she figured out where he was, she couldn’t figure out if he had the energy, and vice versa”?

H’s principle’s [imath] \Delta x \, \Delta p \approx h[/imath]. It’s got an x for position and a p for momentum (or speed or energy), but no t for time.

For one thing it is greater than but anyway there is also [imath]\Delta t\, \Delta E>h[/imath]
