sonyagreen Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 It is hard to believe that official and national figures we honor most of all can be very secretive. But, unfortunately, people are being deceived a lot. The mystery of the Jewish descendents is discussed secretly in the ruling circles. Did you ever question why the wedding of the world of Kate Middleton and Prince William was set on Friday? Was it anyhow connected with sanctity of Saturday that Jewish people observe? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUQVRusxiYk Quote
Eclogite Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 It is hard to believe that official and national figures we honor most of all can be very secretive. Why do you find this hard to believe? Secrecy and confidentiality have always been characteristics of government and political leadership. The mystery of the Jewish descendents is discussed secretly in the ruling circles. If such matters are discussed secretly, how do you know of them? Are you a member of a ruling circle? Did you ever question why the wedding of the world of Kate Middleton and Prince William was set on Friday? And how many other Royal weddings took place on a Friday? Was it anyhow connected with sanctity of Saturday that Jewish people observe? No. Quote
CraigD Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 My, but the internet is a trove of bizarre conspiracy theories! And how many other Royal weddings took place on a Friday?According to the wikipedia article list of royal weddings, of the 11 English royal weddings in the rein of Elizabeth II, the current monarch of England, 2 have been on Fridays: the 6 May 1960 of Princess Margaret to Antony Armstrong-Jones; and the 29 April 2011 of Prince William to Kate Middleton. Also from this handy list, we find that Saturday is the most common day of the week for English weddings since 1952. 3 of Elizabeth’s 4 children were wed at least once on a Saturday. This pretty much discredits the OP’s video’s strange claim that English royals can’t marry on Saturdays for fear of violating the sanctity of the Jewish Sabbath. 4 of the 11 weddings were on Wednesday. None were on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday. As for Jewish tradition prohibiting Saturday weddings, there is such a tradition, but many rabbis are flexible in its observance. I’ve personally attended the wedding of two self-identified Jews by a synagogue-recognized rabbi on around 3:00 PM on a Saturday, hours before the traditional end of the Sabbath at sundown. According to this rabbi’s webpage, “there are Rabbis that will officiate one hour before Shabbat ends as their 'comfort zone' and to accommodate Saturday evening ceremonies”. My experience suggests that that some rabbis have even wider comfort zones. It is hard to believe that official and national figures we honor most of all can be very secretive. But, unfortunately, people are being deceived a lot. It’s not hard, however, to believe that the gullible are constantly misled by enthusiastic but scientifically ignorant conspiracy theorists, such, apparently, as those who made this superstitious, racist youtube video. I strongly council you, Sonya, not to be led into sharing this sort of worldview. JMJones0424 1 Quote
