ScottDavidson24 Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 I came across this show called This Vs That while watching Rock center with Brian Williams on Monday. The show is kind of a Mythbusters style show that looks any debate in the world where you have to make a decision based on two options. Hybrid Vs Gas Engine, Natural Gas Vs Propane, Dogs Vs Cats etc. The goal of the show is to put the debate to rest and come up with an answer, I suppose. They do it scientifically. They have university scientists come in and the experients are very entertaining. It's awesome. Check it out: www.thisvsthatshow.com Quote
CraigD Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 Welcome to hypography, Scott! :) I watched the one full episode of This vs. That available at the website, where they timed different ways of seating 72 volunteers with assorted luggage on an accurate mock-up airliner, and though they were somewhat lax on acknowledging their methodological flaws, enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I’m unable to watch more than the website’s teasers for the other episodes, as the show isn’t carried on any of my TV channels. There seem to be a deluge of new TV shows in the US and other countries patterned after Mythbusters and or the 2001-2004 series Junkyard Wars: Rocket City Rednecks, Stuck with Hackett, Mad Scientists, and This vs. That, to name the few I know. I’m glad to see them all, and wish them success. :thumbs_up Quote
ScottDavidson24 Posted November 10, 2011 Author Report Posted November 10, 2011 My cousin sent me this link (because he knows that I love a good action flick as much as the next guy, but that science is everything) and it's a television show called This Vs That. It claims to be able to scientifically put to rest the common debates of the universe: Hybrid Car Vs. Gas Car (which is scientifically better for the environment), Propane Vs. Natural Gas (which will cost less, burn faster, etc.). This is the website he sent me: www.thisvsthatshow.com. I did see a blurb about the show on Rock Center with Bryan Williams, so it's not something so obscure that nobody's ever heard of it. Personally, I love when science and entertainment meet head on. The show looks awesome. Take a look for yourselves. I'd love to get your take on this. Quote
