Although an intresting idea, I question the if any high-speed rails will be able to come together in the US. With the political infighting and the logistics involved it seems far away. This highway below took years and millions in court cost alone when they tried to go through a wealthy area and the residents fought it. To make high-speed work well they will have to go through alot of new communities, and that won't be easy, fast or cheap.
