Democracy. Throughout the history this word leads people to strike for freedom and their rights. Revolutions, rallies, riots, wars are shaking the world. STOP! Human beings are not brutal by their nature, then how did we come down to it? Isn't there anybody benefiting from keeping masses on a short leash? They are puppeteers playing a game called "organize a colored revolution, lead the crowd, and rule the country the way you want". They utilize simple, yet powerful rule, "The easiest way to manipulate people is by playing on their emotions." They oppress and blacken anyone trying to expose them, because it's easier to manipulate unaware, unorganized crowd. This is the current situation worldwide. Don't you care that this much talked-about "democracy" prove its values at the cost of people's lives?

I care. I support Ron Paul for president. Ron Paul claims to believe that the United States does not have the wisdom, the right or the money to interfere in the affairs of other countries.

I agree with him when he says that the US should cease all foreign aid, get out of all wars and bring all her troops home.

I would like to see a United States that responded with compassion to other countries in times of need and minded it's own business the rest of the time.

I would like to see a United States that, if it led at all, led by example.

I support Ron Paul because I am convinced that he is a man of conscience and integrity who has what appear to me to be sound ideas. He is a long shot to win but at least his message is getting out. Grudgingly.

Simply put, I do care. I disapprove of individuals, companies, or governments that intentionally imprison, injure, or kill people.

Although I’ve no reason to doubt that Peunove understands the Russian government well, I believe she misunderstands or choses to misrepresent the US government, in particular the influence of the US legislative branch (Congress).

The call for better a better Executive (US President) to represent the interest of the People shows, I think, a misunderstanding about the three branches of the US government. Despite much political rhetoric to the contrary, the Executive is empowered to direct the government according to the laws enacted by the Legislature, and to provide a check of the legislature by exercising limited veto power over new laws, not create laws nor violate or order others to violate US law.

I agree with him [Ron Paul] when he says that the US should cease all foreign aid, get out of all wars and bring all her troops home.

I agree, but think that as long as the US maintains a large military at all times, for about the past 70 years, its government will inevitably use it as they are authorized to, and to bad effect.

Although the Constitution contains no explicit prohibition against Congress calling up and Army and authorizing the Executive to use it he sees fit, I believe Article 1 Section 8’s statement that

The Congress shall have power:

...

To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;

is intended to require that no large US armies exist for more than 2 years, except in extreme situations where an actual invasion of the US lasts more than 2 years. Although not technically unconstitutional, I believe that Congress’s perpetual appropriation of money to raise and support its military, other than a small “navy” necessary to assure that trade travel to and from the US is safe, is not what the Constitution intended to empower it to do.

I believe the US should discharge nearly all of its military personnel, maintain only a small professional corps capable of rapidly training people drafted in the event of genuine need. It is very important, I think, that any US army be drawn from all able-bodied US People, because the threat of being drafted disinclines the People from consenting to the US engaging in war except in its defense or the defense of its dearest allies.

In short, the problem of US military adventurism is not, I think, due to the bad intentions of its government of its people, but due to the existence of its large, permanent, professional, career-affording, all-volunteer military. In continuing to appropriate money for it, I believe Congress is betraying some key underlying principles that the Constitution was intended to codify.

Sadly, my optimism and idealism provide me with no defense against your logic. Hope however, as futile as it is, does.

I don't fool myself to the point that I think that Ron Paul will ever be elected, much less be allowed to be effective if he were.

I've been disappointing by so many people in my life, I don't even rule out that Dr. Paul. M.D. is just another blowhard, hypocrite, money/power grubbing politician.

But I hope I'm wrong.

I hope.

It's too late to be a pessimist.
