Joker37 Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 Hi everybody, What can a general 3 year science degree majoring in Biochemistry lead to? What sort of jobs are available to people after completing this type of degee? Would honours increase your employment prospects considerably? If so, how so? Should you get industrial experience before moving onto a phD if that is what you plan to do? Is it wise to do a double major? Quote

The combination of biochemical research how knowledge can be applied to a wide range of industrial and medical investigations, focusing on practical skills such as cultivation of microorganisms, through the investigation of complex molecules such as enzymes and DNA. The program emphasizes practical skills that are important for various medical, industrial, environmental and research applications. These include computer skills, teamwork, problem solving and communication, as well as the traditional skills of microbiologists, analytical biochemistry, or pharmacist. Your project is directly related to the sector and / or the cutting edge of research. Swinburne also offers a year (four) awards for this program. Quote
