jeremyb Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 I was google mapping after seeing a map dated 1822 showing an island in the middle of the Atlantic (saying it was where the lost city of Atlantis was), it was strange to me because it was right where the Atlantic Rift is and I wondered just how somebody in the 1800's could have known about the Atlantic rift, so I kept on mapping around and came to the Falkland Islands just to see what it looked like, and came across this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTRk6qVbKds Is this nothing more than farm land or fields? There were a few "dirt" roads it seemed, but only a very few people lived in the area, and nothing else seems to be around, including any form of vegetation. Quote
Moontanman Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 Farm lands and fields almost certainly, a considerable number of people live there, remember Great Britain fought a nasty not so little war over the Faulklands... Quote
Qfwfq Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Most likely peat fields. ...a considerable number of people live there, remember Great Britain fought a nasty not so little war over the Faulklands...Oh that was mostly Maggie's pride, as well as the fact that few of those folks are named Pablo or Juan.
