Dark Mind Posted May 24, 2005 Author Report Posted May 24, 2005 Just a question, aside from the debates, does anyone think that people should think of certain words as being "bad"? Whether or not it's realistic is besides the point for this question. Quote
Queso Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 words can be bad, how, when, and why they are used. you need to understand as much as you can to determine what is bad in a certrain situation. Quote
Dark Mind Posted May 24, 2005 Author Report Posted May 24, 2005 I think that people just need to understand that WORDS ARE WORDS. It doesn't matter what you understand about them, as long as you realize they aren't going to kill you. Words aren't bad, what the people conceive in their minds is where the negativity comes from. Sticks and stones... Quote
Fishteacher73 Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 This stems back into the concept of good and bad just being subjective and a mental construct. Quote
Dark Mind Posted May 24, 2005 Author Report Posted May 24, 2005 Which is what I was trying to get at in my first post. Again-- I believe we need to stop teaching the younger generations some words are "bad" and also try to deconstruct that same notion that we ourselves were brought up under. Quote
