Deepwater6 Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Was it a good idea to send up this Soyuz rocket in the middle of this Solar flare? I've seen NASA delay trips because of foul weather on Earth. Wouldn't a storm bringing all that radiation and capable of disrupting electronic instruments be a threat to the ship? I understand putting these trips together comes down to logistics, logistics, logistics, but would it have been safer for the crew to wait until the storm blew past or are they properly shielded and it doesn't affect them at all? http://www.space.com/16587-solar-storm-bombarding-earth-now.htmlhttp://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-18845912 Quote
