Deepwater6 Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 (edited) I was unsure if I should have posted this under psychology or the medical thread, but they are both described as science about those subjects and this is not and exact science. What they are doing is bringing needed hope to Cancer patients. It's good to see an upliting story in the news once in a while with so much negativity filling the headlines. I often try an estimate how many years I think I have left. does any else do that? I will soon hit 50yrs old and my body is starting to remind me of that everyday. As I approach that age I think to myself, this self aware conscious being will be no more. It will be gone forever. The next time you look in the mirror think to yourself, in X number of yrs this concious awareness will end for me. When I look at it from that perspective my life time and the years I have left seem so short. To make matters worse as described in another thread time is speeding up as I age. Anybody else, thoughts? http://www.cnn.com/2012/08/23/health/cnnheroes-imerman-cancer/index.html?hpt=hp_c2 Edited August 24, 2012 by Deepwater6 Michaelangelica 1 Quote
Buffy Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 I was unsure if I should have posted this under psychology or the medical thread, but they are both described as science about those subjects and this is not and exact science. What they are doing is bringing needed hope to Cancer patients. It's good to see an upliting story in the news once in a while with so much negativity filling the headlines. Everyone forgets that cancer has nearly as many psychological side-effects as it does medical ones. It's something the medical profession has not been very good about dealing with until recently. Formal programs like this are really wonderful. ... I will soon hit 50yrs old and my body is starting to remind me of that everyday.... Get yourself a colonoscopy. It's time and thanks to Obamacare, insurance companies are now being required to cover them. Most already do, but all must cover these and other screening tests no later than 2014.... That is unless it gets "repealed"...remember that when you walk into the voting booth in 74 days.... The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest her or his patients in the care of the human frame, in a proper diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease, :phones:Buffy belovelife 1 Quote
