Has everyone heard of Dumb Holes or Sonic Black Holes?

I just heard about them recently, and I find the concept exciting.

Briefly, it is possible to create a small region, for a small amount of time Where the Escape Velocity is higher than the Speed of Sound.

{Basically, you have to zap a very homogenous gas very delicately with a Laser so that the molecules are fleeing in all directions faster than the speed of sound, so that no vibration can be promulgated.....

At least I think.....}

Never mind.

Because light can escape, and because the Sonic Event horizon should mirror a Light Event Horizon in many ways, it opens up a whole new way to study and understand Black Holes.

{Wonder if you could utilize a Sonic Black Hole for Time Travel? :lol: :rolleyes: :lol: }

They are analogue black holes. And no, we cannot use them to utilize any feasible kind of time-travel.

The reason why black holes may represent ways to move through time, is because it has a very strong gravitational influence. These Sonic holes are not the same kind of thing. However, they are analogue in the sense that sound waves cannot escape, just as photons cannot escape a black hole.

We managed to create a Sonic hole a few years back if my memory serves.
