Thelonious Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 Has anyone heard if NASA has a plan for servicing the James Webb Space Telescope? With an orbit so far out, it sounds very difficult and risky to use manned missions. Perhaps we will finally see robitic servicing? Quote
Tormod Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 AFAIK there are no plans for servicing the James Webb telescope. Quote
C1ay Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 Here's what Google turned up...Unlike the Hubble Space Telescope, the Webb Telescope will be too far away from earth for service visits by space shuttle astronauts who usually fly only around 250 miles above Earth. Quote
Thelonious Posted June 1, 2005 Author Report Posted June 1, 2005 Well, let's just hope they get it right this time then. Quote
