Trying To Be Understood.

What must I do to be part of this forum. The word forum I thought meant to discuss different topics. Some answer my questions and some don't. If they don't do they not understand the question are, are they afraid to answer the question, feedback would be great! I am trying my hardest to be understood and have failed more than once. Would someone read all my posts and give me a good reason why I should continue or quit? I totally understand each word I use there is not (one word) that has any other meaning except the what I wrote!

 

I am persuaded without a doubt I can write, but cannot be understood. Paul

Paul, you are very welcome in this forum. However, practically all of your posts are about you and your alleged inability to be understood. I fully understand that this is something that is very important to you, but how important do you think it is to the rest of the members?

 

I have many personal issues - concerns over my deteriorating health, worries about job security, troubling matters realting to my son's job security and external factors effecting him, missing my daughter who is on the other side of the world for two years, decisions to be made about massive expenditures required on my home, recognition that while I have many good acquaintances I am too much of a loner to have good friends. I don't raise these in the forum, except - as here - to make the point that every one has troubles.

 

This is not a counselling service. It's a science forum. The discussion is meant to be about science, not about the troubles that afflict each one of us. Now the active members are, by and large, a pretty caring bunch, so a thread on your personal concerns is not out of place. But a dozen of them is a couple of weeks?! I do think that is overkill.

 

So, if you want to have people actively discuss your threads, could you consider posting about science and keeping your personal discussion to a single thread? Is that unreasonable?

 

And, by the way? I have tried very hard to answer your questions. You answer damn few of mine. Why is that?
