Please feel free to move this thread an remove this paragraph if you deem it necessary.) Perhaps you've heard that centrifugal force is a "fake" force. However, you know that centrifuges exist, and you know that when you are going down the highway and veer left, your body is forced to the right. What's going on? It's all in your frame of reference! Rhett Allain gives an excellent example of the benefit of considering "fake forces" using analysis of video of the SpaceX Grasshopper in flight trials. Quote
