Sometime around April this year, I came across a book named 'The Mind Accelerator'

The author of this book claims to know some secrets of how to increase anyones IQ by around 9.5

All I wanted to know was that if anyone around here has read the book and can tell me what they thought of it.

Is that 9.5 % or 9.5 IQ points? In any case, as far as I know, a variance of 10 points either way is possible when taking different tests, so an IQ score is a rough estimate, at best. I don't think adding 9.5 points (which is also probably the best-case scenario, if true) will make an extraordinary difference. Also, a person who has developed critical thinking (through extensive reading, learning, debating, etc.) is probably much better off than a person with a high tested IQ who doesn't put his/her brainpower to use.

Absolutely Chacmool; To strengthen any muscle it must be exercised.

I haven't read the book, but I wonder of the techniques it teaches aren't aimed more at improving memory than IQ. I would be interesting to hear from someone who has read the book.

But stick around, Vishesh - these forums provide more than enough healthy exercise for any enquiring mind! :)
