Mark007 Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 This product is a wristband that comes with electronic components that you can interchange and add with others. The product is called a "Nex Band" and it is from Misty, a startup based out of Montreal. They want to start selling it later this year for $50 and the additional components will by $7. It will have electronic components like; microcontroller, a vibration motor, a Bluetooth radio and a battery that will last for two to four days. They are trying to hook into the teenage buyers. Gregb Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 imo the smart watch era is still a year or two off. The more they can link the bands/watches with social media and gaming the more it will be accepted by teens at least. Should be interesting to see what develops in the next 5 years. Quote
LaurieAG Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 They should also build in sensors so that the impacts of constant 24/7 social stimulation on the human body can be monitored and addressed. This type of device may prove to be a good device that could be used to monitor and keep people in certain critical occupations awake and on the ball though. Quote
InfinityLoopz Posted September 22, 2014 Report Posted September 22, 2014 There's another one too, that has a lot of following. I can't remember the name of them, however I do know they are based out of UK from what i remember. Very cool looking tech, a modular smart watch would be likely the best route to go in regards to the whole "wearable" tech situation. Quote
