Why Is Cursive No Longer Taught?

A life without writing would be far too dull for me. We are going to miss on on the art from it, our kids will at least. I know many that want to teach their own kids this but I am not sure how many are really going to follow through with it.

Apparently most people are also unable to start a fire without matches, track a deer through the forest, make cheese, or write a program in FORTRAN.

I grew up learning cursive, to this day, i keep having trouble writing anything with a pen, personally, I think cursive has no clear structure behind it and kids these days, would benefit more if they would focus on writing on a computer, then maybe we will teach them cursive.
