No photograph there, let alone anything about Mermaids.

You want to try to fix that link?

What if nothing exists and we're all in somebody's dream? Or what's worse, what if only that fat guy in the third row exists? :phones:

Sirens are pretty evident in old Mariner tales and poems...  Pretty sure ancient seamen saw some things back in the old world out on the seas that might not translate to science in the year 2014..

Are mermaids the same as sirens?

Mermaids and sirens both are half-women. Don't have information about it, in the myths, a half-woman, half-fish creature known as the mermaids & were half-woman, half-bird creatures is known as the beautiful singer. :zip:

Uhhhh... the Kenyan news story was sourced from the Weekly World News, which is best known for showing pictures on the cover of their tabloid of US presidents shaking hands with aliens.

The link you gave was a post by a lady who, if you read her bio at the bottom of the page, is a "graphic design ace," who is quite apparently very talented with Photoshop.

In science, it does help to avoid being too credulous.

Skeptical scrutiny is the means, in both science and religion, by which deep insights can be winnowed from deep nonsense, :phones:

Moreover, she is also credited with once having masqueraded as a concert pianist. I might buy a used car from her if it was checked out by mechanics, but I wouldn't buy bizarre mermaid claims.

I didn't read it, but I should read the post completely before asking such question. Anyway, thanks for the informative reply.
