LaurieAG Posted October 30, 2014 Report Posted October 30, 2014 (edited) I came across some old photos from 1985/6 and, until i googled the following links, I did not realise that there was another lake there and these were once a dual crater volcano. http://queensland.gsa.org.au/BBCoalst.pdf Google Earth https://www.google.com.au/maps/place/Coalstoun+Lakes,+QLD+4621/@-25.5965749,151.9072622,3088m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x6bead0127bfa05d5:0x2a00eef1b6b97a90 As you can see the lakes are not very deep and can dry out. The Google Earth link (below) is to a picture that shows the lake with water from the same location. Also, that tree in the foreground is a Boab. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adansonia_gregorii https://www.google.com.au/maps/place/Coalstoun+Lakes,+QLD+4621/@-25.591542,151.907833,3a,75y,90t/data=!3m5!1e2!3m3!1s77437471!2e1!3e10!4m2!3m1!1s0x6bead0127bfa05d5:0x2a00eef1b6b97a90 Edited October 30, 2014 by LaurieAG Buffy 1 Quote
