Foghorn Posted October 30, 2014 Report Posted October 30, 2014 My bucket list is simply ...Rome. I've got to see it before I die. I need to walk around it and in it if I can. I've already been to Stonehenge, even though I was a kid, it wasn't fenced off and graffiti isn't a modern day phenomonon Quote
Foghorn Posted October 30, 2014 Author Report Posted October 30, 2014 I didn't mention it but what I meant was to walk around the Colloseum and maybe get inside. Quote
Buffy Posted October 30, 2014 Report Posted October 30, 2014 [Moderator's Note: Moved from the History Forum] Tahiti. The bird of paradise alights only upon the hand that does not grasp, :phones:Buffy Quote
Foghorn Posted October 30, 2014 Author Report Posted October 30, 2014 What's in Tahiti? Sorry, I don't know. If it was on a list of places to do the Mike Shot during the 50's I might have said ok But I know is a tourist destination today so am glad it wasn't up to me lmao. Quote
Buffy Posted October 30, 2014 Report Posted October 30, 2014 Nice beach with cute guys to bring you your Mai Tais. Hawaii (where I've spent a lot of time) on steroids. Utility is when you have one telephone, luxury is when you have two, opulence is when you have three - and paradise is when you have none, :phones:Buffy Quote
Foghorn Posted October 30, 2014 Author Report Posted October 30, 2014 (edited) Well, if cute guys are all you care about, let me suggest a small port town on the east coast of Mexico called Tuxpan...hope it's close. Our supply boat docked there for 3 fateful nights. And we, a stalwart band of merchant mariners, after a hard traverse from the rocky shores of Louisiana to the welcoming beaches of Tuxpan, were duty bound not to entertain the idea of women, Remind to look up what stalwart means plx. ;p Edited October 30, 2014 by Foghorn Quote
Foghorn Posted October 30, 2014 Author Report Posted October 30, 2014 The factories belching CO2 in the background mak all women look hot... Literally they were sweating, but we were outbound on our supply boat chock full of 6% beer, 3 pounds of some grassy looking substance and 2 bottles of real Mexican tequila.. Autopilot set to darkest part of the gulf, Captain! Quote
Foghorn Posted October 30, 2014 Author Report Posted October 30, 2014 I would absolutely adore a tour of China. Nothing else to say. The oldest civilization known. Ya they have issues but ....is China! Quote
sanctus Posted October 31, 2014 Report Posted October 31, 2014 Foghorn, during my PhD I remember going for work to Rome with a fellow student. One evening we did not know what to do and since we were staying close to the colosseum, and decided "yeah whatever, we have nothing to do so let's just walk around the colosseum" (we both had already seen it before). Alwyas thought that that must sound quite decadent... Quote
